1.Three New Measures of CIAPE 2009 to Benefit the Exhibitors and Visitors
Free Accommodation For Domestic & Overseas Buyers:

To attract more domestic and overseas trade visitors, and to provide convenience for their visits to CIAPE 2009, the Organizing Committee provides free accommodation and free transportation from appointed hotels to the exhibition center for 3 nights during the show in September for all pre-registered overseas buyers, trade agents, specialists from joint ventures in China, as well as purchasers and R&D experts from Chinese automakers. The deadline for online pre-registration is August 31, 2009.


Free On-Line Exhibition For the Exhibitors:

The CIAPE official website (

) has set up the platform of On-line Exhibition free of charge this year, an important value-added service provided by the Organising Committee of CIAPE 2009. In June, the “Production and Demands Match-making” column will be opened up first. The exhibitors can log on

, enter “On-line Exhibition” column and upload the product information (description, pictures, etc.), certification information, demands as well as means of contacts of the company to be displayed on the website. The interested clients can gather the information about the exhibitors and their products on-line. With the new service, CIAPE opens up wider promotion and marketing channels for the exhibitors, promotes the match-making between production and demands, and provides a never-ending on-line exhibition. The CIAPE website has also opened up new columns like “Policies and Regulations” and “Industry Insights” to provide companies with timely industry news and authoritative information. 


Database Marketing for Direct Promotion

To better serve the targeted clients of CIAPE, the Organizing Committee has set up a Customer Service Information Center. Database marketing is adopted to spread information, where E-newsletters, SMS and phone calls are sent and made to the exhibitors, trade visitors and potential clients regularly. E-newsletters are provided in various languages like Chinese, English, Russian, and Japanese, etc, and are focusing on exhibitors and visitors respectively for the contents. This provides the clients with a faster and more convenient way to get information about CIAPE and the whole industry continuously.

2.CIAPE 2009 Sets A New Record In Visitor Invitation

In 2009, the Organizing Committee of the 3rd China International Auto Parts Expo is taking effective measures to invite overseas visitors on a global scale. This helps to improve the quality of the CIAPE exhibitors and provides a golden opportunity for global purchasers get to know more auto parts suppliers with higher cost performance.

Firstly, the Organizing Committee will provide free accommodation in the appointed hotels for 3 nights during the show in September in Beijing for all overseas buyers, trade agents, specialists from joint ventures in China, as well as purchasers and R&D experts from Chinese automakers who pre-register on www.iapechina.com before August 31, 2009. This practice provides practical benefits to overseas buyers and helps to reduce their administration cost, thus is attracting the core force in the automotive industry chain to come and visit the show, and will promote the professionalism and quality of CIAPE.

In the meantime, the Organizing Committee has sent out professional teams to global mainstream automobile exhibitions to promote CIAPE. By June 19, the number of international trade visitors pre-registered has seen an increase of 42.9% compared with the same period last year, especially in the purchase, management and R & D sectors from developed countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Delegations from the major Chinese automakers, Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA), Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE-International), French Vehicle Equipment Industries (FIEV), Korea Auto Industries Cooperative Association (KAICA), Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association of Italy (ANFIA), UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the German Association of Materials Management, Purchasing and Logistics (BME) and the purchasers from the world famous automobile groups will be present at CIAPE 2009. At the same time, over 50 domestic and overseas media working with CIAPE will organize trade visitors to visit and purchase in CIAPE.

Therefore, the trade visitors of CIAPE 2009 will set a new record in terms of both number and quality for the auto parts exhibitions.

3. Economic Crisis Stimulates Enterprises’ Passion to Participate in CIAPE 2009

According to the Organizing Committee of CIAPE 2009, the recruitment of exhibitors is going on smoothly, which is out of the expectation. Many well-known auto parts companies absent from Auto Shanghai 2009 are participating in CIAPE held by the Ministry of Commerce of P. R China.

International well-known auto parts enterprises such as Bosch, Denso, Magna, Delphi and Hitachi have already signed up for the exhibition. In the meantime, the United States, Britain, Germany, South Korea, Canada, Switzerland, India, Indonesia, China Hong Kong and China Taiwan as well as other countries and regions will set up exhibitor pavilions at CIAPE. Their exhibits will cover a complete range in the automobile industrial line including transmission system, chassis system, body system, electronically and electric systems, auto repairing, maintenance equipments and accessories, etc.

The recruitment of Chinese exhibitors is also proceeding smoothly. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Commerce, the recruitment of domestic exhibitors goes on orderly with the coordination of the commerce authorities, electronical and mechanical offices of the relevant provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, cities with independent plans, Xinjiang Production and Construction Army Corps as well as commercial agencies stationed abroad. According to the enrollment rate by May 26 2009, famous domestic companies have began to formulate their plans to participate in CIAPE 2009, among which are FAW, Dongfeng, SAIC, Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., GAIG, Chery, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd, Geely, Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd, Wanxiang Group Corporation, Torch Automobile Group Co., Ltd, Shaanxi Fast Auto Drive Group Co., Ltd, Wanfeng Auto Holding Group, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., and Wuxu Diesel Enging Works. They are representing domestic exhibitors from all the automobile industrial chain areas in China and a total of China’s 12 major automobile industrial bases including Changchun, Tianjing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Wuhan, Wuhu, Taizhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Hefei, Baoding and Liuzhou .

According to Mr. Chen Wangpin, Deputy Director-General of CIAPE 2009 Organizing Committee, economic crisis means more of an opportunity to the automobile industry in China than a challenge, and the advantageous role of a governmental platform is exemplified in light of the current economic crisis. It is anticipated that this year’s CIAPE will bring more new world leading-edge technologies, products and concepts.

4. China’s Auto Production and Sales Both Exceeded One Million Units for 3 successive months!

The domestic auto production and sales in May 2009, according to the latest statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), both exceeded 1.1 million units for the third month continuously since March, hitting the historical record. The accumulated production and sales from January to May have realized the double-digit growth rate. In the meantime, vehicle sales are picking up gradually month by month, and the decrease of the main economic benefits index is substantially narrowed.



Statistics shows that the auto production and sales volume in May 2009 in China is 1,106,900 units and 1,119,700 units respectively, though down 4.56% and 3.11% respectively over April 2009, with an increase of 29.60% and 34.02% over the same period last year. The month production and sales volume remain at a high level, and is the third successive month after March and April to exceed one million units. May is the usually the transition month from the boom season to the slack season, and normally sees a substantial decrease from March and April. However, this year’s decrease is minimum, unlike other years.



With the fat production and sales volume of vehicles for the month of May, the auto production and sales volume in China from January to May 2009 reached 4,837,700 units and 4,956,800 units respectively, with a high growth rate of 11.10% and 14.29% respectively over the same period of last year, which is the first time in 2009 to reach a double-digit increase (The production and sales of vehicles from January to April 2009 are 6.4% and 9.43% respectively). We have reached nearly 50% of the target of 10 million units of production and sales in China, leaving 7 months to go. Judging from the current economic situation of the auto industry in China, Mr. Zhu Yiping, Assistant Secretary-General of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), is optimistic about the prospect of the auto industry in China and has full confidence that we can realize the target of over 10 units of auto production and sales in China.
